Spring has finally sprung in full force! Although, if you live anywhere in the Pacific Northwest, you may have experienced winter’s last hurrah in the form of a wild snowstorm this past weekend. Here in Boise, the snow fell ferociously, giant flakes the size of large cotton balls splattering down for most of the morning. Then, in true Pacific Northwest style, the skies cleared, the sun came out, and the temperatures rose to nearly 70 degrees in the afternoon. My husband aptly commented, “Go home, Mother Nature. You’re drunk!”
Now, our lawn is luscious green, needing to be mowed a second time already. Flowers are blooming brightly and leaves are popping out everywhere. It’s almost as though spring is trying to play catch up after the long, hard winter. Continue reading →
Do you have any plans for Easter? I love so much about this season. It’s an excellent time to teach your kids about God’s love and sacrifice, and a time to reflect on your own relationship with Christ. It’s also so much fun to make treats for Easter!
My favorite Easter food is deviled eggs…and there are so many fun variations out there! In this week’s post, we’re going to take a quick look at some of my favorite Easter ideas, including some fun egg treats. Enjoy! Continue reading →
Welcome to Funtastic Friday 121! This has been a week of technical difficulties for our link ups and for me! I know a lot of you have been enjoying spring break, so hopefully you are able to catch up along with me and join in the link party this week. Continue reading →
It’s so funny how sometimes things don’t work like you’d planned! For example, this post was supposed to go out on Thursday evening, but apparently my scheduler wasn’t working…Ooops! I hope you still take a moment to check out this week’s Funtastic Friday link party below after you catch up on the news!
March is almost over! Can you believe that 1/4 of this year has already gone by? Where does the time go? It’s been a busy month in our world. I started a new job here in Boise, working for a Naturopathic Clinic. I’ve always been interested in natural healing, and am learning lots about how the body works and about some natural alternatives to mainstream medicine! However, it’s kept me super busy the last couple of weeks as I’ve been learning my way around.
Happy Spring!! I’m so excited that spring is finally here. This time of year always tends to inspire cleaning sprees, and for good reason. This week, I’m excited to present a great guest post from Faith Middleton with some fantastic green cleaning tips. Faith is a professional cleaner at Carpet Cleaner Kensington who knows how harsh and health-unfriendly cleaning detergents cand be. Being green really helped her and her family to be healthier and environmentally cautious. And it’s frugal too!
What is your favorite green cleaning tip?
Getting organized…Phew! It’s a lot more difficult than it sounds, isn’t it? Settling into our new place has been difficult as we’re faced with the need to reorganize so many things! Moving has proved to be a great time to really evaluate some of our belongings and decide what we truly want or need.
I had fun searching through last week’s link party for some great organization tips to put into practice. Here are a few of my favorites!
First up are some great tips for tackling your closets from Refined Rooms, LLC. I love the way she breaks down her cleaning challenges! Now that I’ve unpacked most of the boxes, I’m looking forward to going back through and organizing all those spots I just stuffed things! Continue reading →
Yikes! I’m not sure where the days keep going, but I finally feel like we’re really starting to settle into our new home and community. The past few days, I’ve been trying to figure out all of our bills. I know, everyone’s favorite topic!! But moving from one state to another, making sure everything gets set up in our name, making sure everything is paid up at our previous home (plus, now that we’re landlords ourselves, making sure the mortgage gets paid on time from 3 hours away was a little tricky too!).
To help myself keep everything sorted, I’m making a new page in my bullet journal with a list of all the new utility companies and their info, what day the bills are due, etc. It’s at times like this that my bullet journal is truly a lifesaver! Continue reading →
I love Chocolate. A Lot. And I love mint. And I really like them mixed together. With St. Patrick’s Day just around the corner, I think I can find all kinds of excuses to have chocolate mint treats. I enjoy a great (non-alcoholic) Grasshopper Latte anytime, and Peppermint Patties are probably my favorite candy. Continue reading →
Hey there! If you’ve been following my blog or social media at all lately, you know that my hubby, our cats, and I just moved. It’s a little bit of a crazy story, but the short version is that we’ve been talking about a move for the last year. We weren’t sure about when, or where, but we were feeling that it was time to move on.
At the beginning of the year, we started talking about me leaving my job at the Children’s Museum and writing full time. We also started talking about whether to put our house on the market or not and decided it wasn’t time for that yet. We still had quite a few projects we needed to finish before selling.
